Not all bulk email is spam. I would even go as far as to say not all bulk commercial email is spam. Lawrence Lessig just touched on the misuse of the word spam in a post on his blog. Companies and organizations are allowed to use email. People sign up for it, consent to it, and then complain about it.
I guess this post is to say it is nice to see an open source leader (Lessig) calling the spam zealots on their BS.
