Trip to Michigan

Sabrina made a great suggestion to drive to Michigan a day early. Now we are in Michigan and there are inches of snow on the ground. We left Nashville last night at 7pm in our new (to us) Mazda MPV mini-van. We got to Grand Rapids, MI at abot 4:30am EST. Not the best time but not too bad. The van was comfortable and nice to drive.

The kids slept most of the way, Sabrina slept a little bit, and I tried not to sleep at all. On I69 just north of the Michigan/Indiana border I reported a car that had driven off the road into the trees. That woke me up enough to get the rest of the way there.

This afternoon in Michigan it started to snow. It has already accumulated several inches. It would have sucked if we drove up today like we had planned. Tom is saying it looks like there is already about 4 inches.

We also found some cheap gas on the way up ($1.79 just south of Louisville, KY). It was less than $30 to fill up.
