I hate my iphone!! I'm getting rid of it tomorrow morning. It is absolutely useless as a phone! If you have an emergency and need to call 911. YOu have to do 3 to four steps just to dial 9-1-1! And you should hope that your iphone doesn't decide to glitch, which it does very often even after uploading the new software that was supposed to cure the glitch problem. When the iphone glitches the screen freezes or goes completely black and (my favorite) it says that it's calling but it is not, theres just a blank silence for about 20 seconds before it finally says "Call Failed." It continues doing this for about 5 minutes until you turn the iphone off and on again, which fixes the problem but also takes about 3-4 minutes.. So... if you would like to have a reliable cell phone, one that you can guarantee will work in an emergency.... DO NOT BUY AN IPHONE, depending on it is a death wish.

I gotta say, the HTC Touch Pro looks awesome, and i hear AT&T is getting it. Too bad i'm on T-mobile... but maybe you can go for it. I know you're not a Win fan, but they've rejigged the interface to be sweet and cool like the iPhone, but have the huge back catalog (for forward) of the WinMobile legacy....be that good or bad. May hate MS, but its gonna be darn usable. Though an Android version might be good... of course who know...Android may turn out to be a turd.

I have to agree with you on just about all those points. This phone is beginning to seriously piss me off. And the sad thing is, most of the problems stem from bad software. For years I've told people how great apple software is and how they should go out and buy a mac. Lately, though, I've been telling people to stay away from the iphone because it's just not stable enough to use as a phone.

funny thing......I bought the original iPhone last fall and NEVER had a problem with reception, dropped calls or sloooooowwwwww e-mail response. Ever since I upgraded the software to the new "me" it's been a complete mess. I used to have such incredible respect for Apple but they've totally lost me on this one. Actually thinking about dumping it and going back to a blackberry......will be a hassle transferring contacts, etc., but at least it's realiable.

I did all the research, debated and chatted with everybody I know that owned an iPhone and in the end, I bought the Samsung Eternity. I am a long-term Apple evangilist (I've owned a Mac in one form or another since 1986) and I was looking for a reason to buy the iPhone. I have unlimited texting with my family plan and didn't really want to purchase an additional data plan with the phone (which is mandatory with iPhone, I'm sure you know). The Eternity is fantastic, the touch screen is second to none and I could not be happier. Reading the comments on this blog actually verifies my decision.
