This weekend Sabrina went to the wedding of a friend in East Tennessee. She took Carter (5) and Jacob (3) with her.
Apparently, there were quite a few kids there. There was also plenty of Halloween candy. Which makes the report I got back all the more perplexing.
Carter set up shop at the reception. He was [...]

Back To School Pictures
I finally got around to posting pictures from the first day of school. It was Carter’s first day of Kindergarten and Zaiver’s first day as a 1st Grader.
This is one of the better pics. Click it to see the full set.
Happy Fathers Day
I am very fortunate to have such a great friendship with my dad. I am so grateful that on Fathers Day I am able to take some time to appreciate my dad and the role model he is for me as a father (I have lots of fathering to do).
Jazz Fest Recap
Last Tuesday I was trying to get the family packed and ready for our trip to Jazz Fest in New Orleans. Just as dusk was approaching I decided that I had to at least mow the front yard before we left. I pulled the mower around to the front of the house and got started. [...]
Blogging to Read: It Is Working
Yesterday I started “Blogging to Read” for my 6 year old. This morning as soon as he got up he asked me if he could “write”. We didn’t have time this morning, but I loved his enthusiasm.
As soon as he got home from school he was asking if he could write. After doing some chores [...]
Blogging to Read

If I remember correctly she was very fortunate that one of her classmate’s father was able to volunteer a large amount of time to work with the students on the Writing to Read program in the school’s computer lab. [...]

We went out to Lisa’s mom’s house/farm on Easter. It was a perfect location for an Easter Egg hunt. I spent most of the time behind the camera. Here are some of my favorite shots. (More available in my Easter 2008 set on flickr).
Also, Bethany and Kristian had an [...]
Kids Know This Sucks
I am going out of town for work this afternoon. I haven’t been traveling much at all this year. The frequent travel last year really wore on my family and they need me to be here.
This morning I was dropping the kids off at school and my 2 year old just burst out in tears [...]
The Future is Now
Zavier is in bed sick today. I just went in to check on him and there was a short on PBS about what kids think will happen in the future.
“What do you think the future will be like?” I asked. He didn’t bite so I kept prodding “Do you think you will ever drive a [...]
Travel Perks
I get a large number of perks for all the travel I have done in the past year. It is nice to get upgrades and such, but the best perks are the ones I get to share with friends and family.
Tonight Sabrina is flying to New York City to visit a friend. Thanks to miles [...]
