Statzen Update
I am really kicking ass on statzen development these days. It is a real sacrifice for the entire family, but everything I am seeing leads me to think this is a real viable business. I also think my velocity is starting to pick up because I am getting to some of the fun stuff for me.
I have been playing with blogs and analytics for close to 6 years now. All of my jobs as a technical professional are coming together on this project; that experience is also merging with the experience of owning a retail clothing store too.
I don’t want to give away too much so just consider this an adumbration. More will be revealed soon
By the way, if anyone would help out I would love a link to statzen from your blog. It would be much appreciated. As we get closer to launch inbound links will help people find it. I think the best would be one like this: blog stats
StatZen Update
One year ago I posted a message that was the start of StatZen brewing in my mind. I have been working on StatZen for a year now, yet it is still not ready. We are starting to think that maybe the way to go is to actually fund a Rails developer to work with us to help realize this dream.
The market it too good and the idea too valuable to miss the opportunity.
StatZen Update
I have been quietly working on StatZen several nights a week. The next three nights I am going to be staying at my mom’s house after work so that I can gain some momentum and get a release out some time in 2005.
I am annoyed with CVS for this project too, so one of the first things I plan to do is move to subversion. That way I can change filenames / structures easily without losing version information and such. I don’t think I will create the build system tonight, though I probably should. I am more interested in getting it to a place where I can get some feedback.
StatZen Update
I made some really good progress on StatZen last night. I have had to create more supporting code than I thought I would. Last night I added Iterators to my data layer. I also have a grid component to allow me to easily create sortable lists for reports.
I am going to give GraPHPite a try for creating charts and graphs. I don’t know that I will be able to get to that tonight, but there will be an update to StatZen.com tonight.
I have not been moving as fast as I would like, but I am making really good progress and the working I am doing is allowing me to increase the velocity of development.
I want to say thanks to the people who have signed up to be notified when the service starts to launch. I look forward to sending you an email soon.
