There is a new coffee shop / restaurant in East Nashville. I drove by Sky Blue last week while looking for office space. It wasn’t open yet, but as I was thinking about where to get a bite and a cup of joe this morning I thought I would check in and see. Apparently they opened yesterday. It could be that I am the first blogger ever to visit this fine establishment, so I thought I would go ahead and share my thoughts.
Sky Bistro is located at 700 Fatherland St in East Nashville. This location used to be some sort of wine bar that I never visited and didn’t last very long. It is a really nice space, but it is a little hard to find nestled between half a million dollar Victorian homes and the projects.
There doesn’t seem to be any wireless access here which is unusual for a coffee shop, but not so unusual for a bistro. Then again, coffee shops don’t usually have table service either. They have a basic short-order menu for breakfast as well as some light and healthy options. I had a couple of eggs over-easy and they were cooked perfect.
I will be back.
UPDATE: There is some talk about Sky Blue Bistro and Coffee on the East Nashville Google Group (formerly known as the East Nashville List Serv). See the other reviews.
