Last week I was talking with Marcus about the whole Yahoo! / Microsoft non-deal. We came to the conclusion that Yahoo! was asking for an unjustifiable price because they had realized that Yahoo! does not have a future. The sales price was all they were ever going to get.
I kinda-sorta followed the Jerry Yang talk today via twitter. Michael Arrington summed up his thoughts on the matter. From what he says I think we were pretty spot on and that Yahoo! is done.
It is a real shame too. Yahoo made some great acquisitions. If they had been able to pull them together and integrate in the obvious ways then this would have been different.
