Making a Major Life Change

Today is my last day as a full-time employee for The Janis Group. I am still going to be working with/for them, but it will now be on per-contract basis. For the past few months I have been trying to figure out how to transition into being a full-time entrepreneur. Statzen has not yet gotten funded and Plato’s Closet is no paying my bills so I had to find another way.

In many ways the only change that is taking place right now is one of semantics and how my taxes get filed. The vast majority of my time will still be spent providing Business Intelligence consulting for JGI’s notable clients. Still, this is a scary and energizing shift for me.

One of the reasons this shift is exciting is that I will be able to start focusing some time on new entrepreneurial ventures. Over the next few weeks (or maybe more likely sometime in May) I am going to be working on some new ideas. Hopefully there will be more to talk about soon. Who knows, I may launch a Coworking space or a Personal Assistant CoOp or a team to compete for the Google Lunar X Prize (ok, that last one is doubtful).

Hopefully things will pick up around here a little too. ;)

Good luck on being an entrepreneur. It’s always served me well. I hope that is as liberating for you as it is for me and I hold out hopes that one day we will once again get to work together on a project.

Congrats! I am especially enthralled with the idea of a coworking space.
