Looking Back at a Broken Heighday

On July 15th, 2006 I posted the following post titled “Hotlanta“:

Sabrina and I packed up the kids on a whim last night and are in Atlanta. It is going to be a long time before we can take a vacation, but getting away for a night is a nice change of pace.

Lately I have been getting several spam comments per day to this post (though none get through). I finally decided to go back and look at the post and disable comments. This is a post of very little substance; something I would still post, but on Twitter instead of my blog.

I am probably getting spam on this particular post because of the title. I imagine that post shows up in some searches for “Hotlanta”. I am no expert in Atlanta and something with such little substance should draw the attention of no one.

It is funny to look back and see how clearly the blogosphere was broken before. I am sure it is just a broken today, but I don’t see it as clearly yet.
