How much risk is the Federal Government able to shoulder? As The Fed takes on additional risk in the form of a deal with JP Morgan and other banks, it is important to keep an eye on the total risk in the Fed’s “portfolio” so to speak.
As the US economy teeters, the expense of the Iraq war looks more and more foolish. There comes a point where it is not only foolish but is down right irresponsible. As credit card bills come in with rising interest rates and variable rate mortgages force more homes into foreclosure, the exorbitant financial cost of the Iraq war will be less tolerable to us.
