The Future is Now

Zavier is in bed sick today. I just went in to check on him and there was a short on PBS about what kids think will happen in the future.

“What do you think the future will be like?” I asked. He didn’t bite so I kept prodding “Do you think you will ever drive a flying car?”

In one of those toddler zen moments Zavier said “This is your future.” I was a little taken aback and he could tell so he kept on. “When you were a kid, this was your future. Did you ever think you would drive a flying car?” As I nodded yes my young sage summed up his prospects. “Since this is your future and you aren’t driving flying cars, I won’t be either.”

And there you have it. The non-linear nature of time as told by a 6 year old. The future is now.
