James Robertson is right, the IDE options in Ruby suck. However, Rake is a tool.
BTW, the best IDE I have ever used was the non-eclipse version of the Zend IDE.

Martin Fowler is talking about which JVM scripting language is “best”. I am surprised he didn’t mention the additional utility of having Ruby outside of the JVM (i.e. cron jobs , etc).
