Thanks for catching the spam filter. Glad you made it back and enjoyed the ride. Hope the rain wasn't too bad between Roanoke and Nashville.

I'm off to DC today to meet with the TN Congressional delegation regarding issues near and dear to those motorcyclists who keep up with such things.

The recent short sighted motorcycle safety recommendations by the NTSB and support for HR 1076 and S 616 (HIPAA Recreational INjury Technical Corrections Act).

I'll be leaving the Electra Glide in the garage this trip as I'll be bringing the 3 year old grandson back to Nashville for a visit. There are some things in life that over ride my need to saddle up, and he's one of them!

I look forward to meeting you one of these days... Nolensville isn't THAT far from Cool Springs.

Mr Freedom, first off, I am sorry that my spam filter caught you for a little while.

On the way up I did take US 11. I think it was about Harrisonburg where I picked it up. As soon as I got off the interstate I saw a sign that read "Not recommended for trucks. Next 11 miles." That gave me a big grin and I knew I had picked a good secondary road.

I have ridden in the rain before and it is not too bad. To be honest I am dreading camping in the rain more than riding in the rain. Maybe I will just give in a get a hotel.

As I am sure you know, the closer I get to ride time the less I am interested in everything else.

Ride fast and take lots of chances. (momma uses reverse psychology like that a lot).

I've ridden Nash to DC and back several times and that I-81 gets pretty think with trucks. If you have time, ride US 11 through the valley when you can. (Harrisonburg to Natural Bridge stands out. I think the VA Dept of Tourism even has some good riding routes highlighted on their web site.

Enjoy the seat time!

Accuweather says go for it. Heck, a little rain has never slowed me down but a monsoon can mean an extra day in the hotel.

I'll ride in a steady rain but I won't start out in one unless there's no other option.

Whatever you do, be safe, or as momma would say, ride fast and take lots of chances! (Must have been reverse psychology) and it worked!
