I am only interested in using web applications that have the possibility of improving my quality of life. That sounds like a high bar, but everything else is just a distraction. So what is the most recent example of a web applications that has improved my quality of life?
dopplr. There are things I like and dislike about dopplr. However, I decided to give it a go just in case. I also encouraged every frequent traveler I know to use it (some chose to, others declined). Fast forward a few weeks. I just got a phone call from my cousin. He is currently touring with Salvador Santana (Santana’s son). He just saw on dopplr that I am in New Jersey this week and called to tell me that he is going to be in NYC on Thursday night. Now I am going to be meeting him to catch the show.
The funny thing is that before he left on tour we compared schedules to see if we would be in the same place at the same time. We just missed each other in San Francisco by a day, but other than that our schedules didn’t line up. Of course, schedules have a way of changing and as our schedules changed, dopplr caught the match.
