I happened to search Google for my name today and low and behold, for the first time in at least 5 years, the first search result has nothing to do with me. There is this guy who has the same name as me and has been elected to some political office in Virginia. The best part is that he even has the same middle initial.
My first thought was “oh yeah? I will show him”. Then I stopped and thought about it. I think I might like not being the most visible Jackson Miller on the planet. There are times when I wish it wasn’t so easy to find me. So I am starting to think this might be a blessing.
It used to be that 8 of the first 10 results had to do with me, now it is only 2. Maybe one day I will care a little more about my online visibility, but right now, I would rather people find me on Facebook.
