• Life After Twitter
  Ok, so there seems to be an endless sea of applications that want to know what I am doing right now (in 140 chars or less). With each new application that enters the fray, the micro-blog world either becomes more fragmented or more difficult to participate fully. It is time for there to be some interoperability.

  Many people host their blogs on blogger, TypePad, etc, but there are also still a large number of people who how their blogs themselves using open source software. When will we see the Wordpress of micro-blogs? Isn’t open source the only real hope for micro-blogging standardization at this point?

• I do not want an iPhone, I want a…
  The phone I really want has finally been released. The Blackberry 8830 is not available on Sprint. Why would I want a Blackberry 8830 over an iPhone?
  1. A Blackberry 8830 is cheaper than an iPhone
  2. The maps on the Blackberry 8830 are GPS aware (with no additional charge on Sprint) whereas the iPhone is not equipped with GPS
  3. I spend too much time in warehouses and large corporate buildings with poor cellular signals for all of my apps to be browser-based web applications.

• Gore is a Disruptive Force
  Remember two years ago when the conservative talking points on global warming had to do with questioning the science behind it and stating that global warming didn’t exist? Somehow, the talking points now seem to be “drive your big truck to a vegetarian restaurant instead of a steakhouse to stop global warming”. It is not factories and cars that are causing global warming, it is all of the methane produced by animal agriculture.

  Who knew all those times Republicans said that global warming was “bull shit” they meant it literally.

• My Pick for Nashville Mayor
  I am sure it surprises no one that I am either going to vote for Karl Dean or David Briley for Nashville Mayor. Both are saying some things I like, and more recently both have said some things I am a little turned off by. I am really hoping it kinda works itself out and a clear leader emerges. Otherwise they are fighting for many of the same votes.

I intended to write more on each of those, but sometimes wanting to write more results in me writing much less.
