I went to Flugtag downtown yesterday. I have to say it was the most enjoyable event I have ever been to at Riverfront park. Well, maybe Koko Taylor on my 18th birthday was more fun, but I had a blast yesterday.
The actual flying contraptions didn’t fly very well. The “world record breaking” thing from Kentucky was pretty much a store-bought hang-glider. Still, it was a neat event. None of that has to do with why it was so enjoyable though.
Yesterday, for the first time ever, I attended a Riverfront event from the river. WE put Ben’s ski boat in the Cumberland at Shelby park and make a short trek down the river to the festivities. We set the anchor perfectly on the first try so that we were under the shade of the Shelby Street bridge. We could see and hear, we had a cooler full of beer, we didn’t have any crowds or parking problems, and we were not hot.
If I was going to be in town for the 4th of July, I would definitely be watching the fireworks from a boat on the river. That is the way to do it.

Woot as the cool kids say.
Very fun.
My hair is cut like that, only opposite: on mine, there is hair on both sides and very little down the middle.
You look a little like Joe Strummer!
I thought I posted this once but it must not have taken.
Just wanted to say in all and total seriousness - dude, you totally ROCK that mohawk. And I think you’re the first person I’ve ever known that I thought it looked really great on!
Wow. I might have to keep this for a while.
Jackson, I can’t decide if you look like a badass or an ass gone bad. LOL!
Seriously, the mohawk is a pretty good look for you… now if only you had a motorcycle… you’d really be stylin.
