Kent Newsome has asked me to participate in his swivel feeds experiment. For those that don’t know, he is rebuilding his reading list by asking the bloggers he reads to suggest 5 new feeds for him. Currently I am subscribed to 279 feeds (I am in serious need of a major pruning). From those 279 I have to pick 5?!?!? Tough job.
- ThoughtWorks Blogs
I may be cheating by adding an aggregator to the list, but man there is some good stuff in this feed. ThoughtWorks is a consultancy that is headed by Martin Fowler. From what it looks like from the outside, ThoughtWorks does things the right way. They use interesting and powerful technologies alongside agile project management methods. If I ever take a job other than the one I have now, I would seriously try to work at ThoughtWorks. - Brazen Careerist
I first found Brazen Careerist during a 9rules submission round. I was immediately sucked in to the advice and recommendations being made in long thoughtful posts. Shortly after, Penelope took on additional authors and the posting volume went up. The quality dropped a little, but it is still a unique blog that scratches an itch for me. - Kevin Burton
I really like Kevin’s approach to entrepreneurism. Additionally we are typically on the same page politically. - Rex Hammock
Rex is a local-to-Nashville blogger who has really valuable insights and commentary on new media stuff (even if he makes his money in the antiquated old-media world of magazine publishing). If I only read a few blogs in a day, Rexblog is one of them. - Nashville Is Talking
There is a vibrant and connected blogging community. I read a ton of Nashville bloggers and that is largely due to Nashville is Talking. While NiT is currently is a stage of transition and may never be the same as it was, there is nothing like it that I know of in another city.
