Good News About Software Patents

I read an article in the Wall Street Journal this morning about the Supreme Court’s recent decision to limit the scope of patents. From what I read it sounds like a great decision that is a huge win for consumers and innovators; it was a loss of patent parasites. Unfortunately I can’t really find much information about this case at the various online news sources.

Basically, the decision brings back the importance of ‘obvious’ when determining if a patent is worthy. It is my guess that the Amazon one-click checkout patent is now un-enforcable (as well as many other rediculous software patents).

On an un-related note, I got a call today to get information about software I am developing so that lawyers can discuss it. WEird.
