I will never fly Skybus. I have no problem with inexpensive, but this just sounds ‘cheap’.
Skybus, which plans to acquire more than 70 aircraft during the next five years, hopes to be able to undercut rivals by selling advertising space inside and outside its planes and charging for priority seating and checking bags. It keeps costs down by only taking reservations over the Internet and not staffing a call center.
I don’t mind paying for premium seats as long as it is reasonable, but not having a call center? I always buy my tickets online, but sometimes I have to call to make adjustments or clarifications. I think they are asking for a confused and frustrated customer base. Then again, people probably said the same thing about Southwest not having assigned seats.
