One of the things I am finding toughest about life on the road is that I do not have my Mac. I just don’t want to travel with 2 computers, and I have to have a Windows computer for what I am doing. At home I am able to do work on my iMac, but my Powerbook is unable to run Windows. That leaves me on my ThinkPad while on the road.
One of the main things missing is NetNewsWire. I have been trying to use NewsGator.com (since it is integrated with my NNW), but it sucks. Seriously, it is really slow. There is no Mark All as Read. There is crap for sorting and searching. It is really slow to reload the entire page every time (there is this thing called AJAX…) Maybe I need to give Google Reader a shot tonight.
I assume it can load OMPL.
Without NNW my blog posting has been limited. That and the fact that I worked over 40 hours last week in 4 days.
I just have not been able to justify $2,500 of debt for a new Intel Mac laptop (yet). I am just not sure how long I can hold out. If Apple releases a smaller Mac Book Pro at MacWorld today I might be in serious trouble. Of course, I don’t think they will.
Speaking of MacWorld. I know a couple of people who are there this year (lucky bastards). I am sure they are having a good time right about now. I will looking forward to hearing their reports when they get back. The big keynote address starts in just a short while.
