Promoting Small Business with Blogging: part 1

I went for a ride on my new bike today at lunch. I found myself in Berry Hill so I stopped at Mothership BBQ for a quick bite. I have never met Nashville Knucklehead before, but I love bbq and I had heard good things about his. I must admit, the sandwich was quite good, but the real test will be when I get a meal for the family take-out.

He has done a great job generating some buzz in the (very active) Nashville blogging community. I think an important part of the buzz is that when I walked in, Nashville Knucklehead himself was behind the counter. He probably didn’t have a clue who I was but I introduced myself anyway. It was lucky I did because there was a special running today where everyone named Jackson got a free bag of chips.

Both blogging and small business is often about the personality of the person running the show. I wish I could have the opportunity to try being the friendly face who remembers you when you walk in to Plato’s Closet of Cool Springs, but I can’t afford that. Luckily we have a great staff down there who have great smiles and personalities. Now we just have to get them blogging so they can get some of what Mothership BBQ has.
