Tomorrow Highland Rim is having a free golf clinic for women. I found out about it early and Sabrina signed up. Now, she is a better golfer than I am so she is now getting an added advantage. Maybe one day I will have time and money to go take some lessons to step up my game a bit.
When I signed Sabrina up for the free clinic I asked if she wanted to play a round afterwards. She agreed, so I made a tee time directly after the clinic. When I made the tee time I was thinking that we would have another couple join us. However as the weekend got closer I started to think about how nice it would be to have 18 holes of quality time with just the two of us.
I have no idea why I thought it was a good idea to take up golf, but I am really glad I did. I have heard it said before that men need an activity to make an excuse for social time. That is definitely true for me, and golf has afforded me the best social life I have had in years. An added bonus is that my wife also enjoys playing golf (she played on her high school team). Tomorrow the two of us will tee off for a few hours of quality time.

I took up golf last week. It’s absolutely tragic, I can’t hit the ball further than 75 yards, and based on the video evidence, with every swing I look like I’m having a convulsive fit. Most fun I’ve had in years
Why I don’t play golf: I find it absolutely frustrating and somewhat humiliating - and all I ever want to do is break the clubs. Yes, I am too high-strung for such an activity.
Watch out Ed, it is addictive. Next thing you know you are stopping to look at your swing in the mirror.
Ryan, I concur. The problem is that just when I am ready to give up I sink a 25 foot putt or drop it in from a sand trap. Then I go right back to my normal slicing self.
you can look at your swing in the mirror??? :: runs towards mirror ::
