Yesterday I posted about the apparent choice of conservative women for Supreme Court. A.C. Kleinheider picked it up, as did Brittney. Thanks guys!
A.C. kinda missed the point; as do many conservatives. He tried to make the discrepancy between Charmaine’s poll and Bush’s pick to be about quotas or affirmative action. I don’t know where he got those battle cries, but they are completely irrelevant to the point.
President Bush continues to ignore very large and important segments of the citizens that voted him into office. Instead he bows to a small, but vocal minority who have a lot of money. The bulk of conservatives in this country would not have picked someone as extreme right as Alito, they would have picked someone whose views are more mainstream like their own.
Am I correct in hearing A.C. say that he is not concerned with the female conservative voters? Wasn’t theer a fair amount of lip service to their importance to the party in 2004? Not that I am complaining, I am perfectly content with there being a large amount of disenfranchised female conservatives when 2006 and 2008 roll around.
There are more women in this country than men. “Security moms” were a big part of the 2004 election. These are the same voters that Bush is ignoring, while A.C. is accusing them of wanting quotas or supporting affirmative action. Those are fighting words for conservatives.
