I am going to try out TextDrive as a hosting provider. I am currently using Linode. TextDrive does not give me root access, but it is obvious that they are targeting developer types. Their setup looks pretty great, they include lots of languages, and give shell access.
I am going to start with their middle level account and that should be enough (and $15 cheaper than I am paying now).
