While electronic music is cool, I am not sure how much further it can go on it’s current course. The problem is that electronic music lacks human feel. I think this is why bands like Radiohead have had so much success lately combining the two. (NOTE: I am not talking about top 40 music here, I am talking about GOOD music.)
This has led me to the idea of creating object oriented music. By combining an artificial intelligence engine with music theory I suspect we will be able to use music theory to create living compositions. It would require some thought into what constitutes a song and a good understanding of how the mind improvises, but I do think a live band feel can be created with "objects" of electronic music.
I also have some goood ideas about how to let this music be performed portably and how this music can be structured and developed, but I am holding those ideas to myself for now.
