I have been thinking that since “blogs” are all over the media that the average person knows what they are. Boy was I wrong! The bad part is that everyone knows the word.

It makes it difficult when people saying “blogs” but that is not what they mean at all. Somehow “blog” means centralized online discussion to a fair amount of people. While I would agree that blogs are all about discussion, they are anything but centralized. Sure, there are comments, but to me that is secondary. I don’t think all blogs allow comments, so that cannot be the primary defining characteristic. These people must be envisioning a Forum when they say blog.
