Update:
April 16th, 2008:
As we approach the 5 year anniversary of Tabitha’s disappearance this post seems to be getting a fair amount of traffic. Most of it is coming from the UK. Did the America’s Most Wanted episode just re-air? Is there news about this case taking place in the UK today? Please leave me a comment and let me know.
A 13 year old girl has gone missing in my neighborhood, and the Metro police don’t seem to be too concerned. This raises all kinds of questions.
The main question is of course where exactly is Tabitha Tudors, and how did she get there? Was it voluntary, or is this foul play. I also can’t help but wonder why this is not getting more attention by the media.
Granted, I first heard about it on the news, but it is not the top story. Why is this kind of story a really big story sometimes, and not others? Does it have to do with the victim’s financial status? Does it have to do with their appearance? Maybe it simply has to do with a lack of "better" news stories at the time.
Another thought that is circling around in my head is whether the family knows more then they are letting on. This is not because of the family, but mostly because of the recent history in these kinds of cases. It is all too common that a child goes missing only to find out that the family did the "missing".
Regardless of any of the periphiral questions, the question that concerns me most is where the hell is Tabitha Tuders? I hope she is found safe and sound.

i totally agree that no one is too damn concerned about Tabatha.
I was watching the news (CNN) only about 5 minutes ago and saw a headline about a 22 yr old girl (Drew) missing from a mall in Conneticut. I think all missing girls are important but why in the hell is Tabitha not as important as others?
From this day on I AM MAKING A VOW TO EMAIL EVERY MAJOR NEWS CHANNEL EVERY DAY UNTIL TABITHA’S STORY GETS NATIONAL COVERAGE.
The two girls missing from Dickson seem to have gotten more coverage than our little Tabatha and they ran away on some weird prank at their own fault.
LET US STAND TOGETHER AND EMAIL, CALL AND/OR WRITE EVERY HEADLINE NEWS CHANNEL EVERY DAY UNTIL OUR LITTLE TABATHA GETS SOME MUCH DESERVED NATIONAL COVERAGE!
I totally agree. I think about her all the time and wonder why Nashville's news channels don't mention her more than they do besides on the anniversary of her missing date.
I ran into Tabitha’s sister today while shopping. I have always been very concerned and sympathetic but to actually be THAT close to it simply left me gasping for air…..for a moment I felt every bit of her pain and heartache. My daughter visits her father, only 2 streets down from where Tabitha lived. It could have just as easily been her if she was abducted, and I believe she was. I hope that everyone will go to the site at her school and purchase the $5 CD they have made. The money goes towards her reward money, buying equipment for searchers, and flyers. I gave generously and hope many people will do the same. This family seems to be hurting terribly and her sister and I wept in the middle of Wal-Mart as she expressed how frustrating and devestating it is to sit and watch the news every night with no mention of Tabitha. This should be a DAILY news story until some closure is brought to this family. Whether dead or alive, they need to KNOW so that they may begin to move forward.
Dont worry God has it under control all you have to do is pray.
I also personally wish she was home for christmas but she is not just trust in God its worth a try.
You are so stupid. Praying is not going to bring Tabitha home,or she would be home by now with all the praying I am sure her parents have done. So if her parents use your advice, all they have to do is pray and Tabitha will be home. Amazing!!
Being a mother I feel for all the recent families of children that are missing. I am mad that the Metro Police Dept. dimissed Tabitha’s disapearance as a run away due to her school absentee record. She was 13 and missing from the bus stop. I hope the Tudors family sues Metro. I hate that the family of the Florida 11 year old Karlie did not watch her. She should not have been alone. I hate that the girl in North Dakota who was abducted while talking on her cell phone was not watching who was near her. Women and girls must protect themselves and wake up to the fact that the world is a dangerous place. Be on your guard all the time. Lastly I believe that Tabitha as a 13 year old would have called home if she was alive and had simply run away. Girls can’t leave there sisters and mothers with out some contact. Also, what did they find out about the foot that was found in LaVergne. Could they match the DNA to any missing person in Nashville or was that a foot from a graveyard. The news has nothing on it.

I am so sad, as a mother myself, about all of the good points in all of the comments above. To the family I just wish some peice of mind. I do have a question. What is the Web address for that school, for the cd, I have looked. I would love to help in anyway.

The reason for the lack of press is that there are no new details on the case. It is (and this sounds harsh) no sense in wasting news time telling the same old story. There is no reason to try to make it an issue in the Mayor’s race, that sort of thing is not his responsibility. We will hear news when there is some to report.
I don’t know if it has been mentioned, but also because so many girls (and guys too) go missing all the time that people just start to see it as an everyday thing and don’t really think it’s anything big anymore. It is and it’s very serious. Think how Tabitha feels if her community isn’t really into trying to find all that much. She wants to be found and come home very much I’m sure.
I guess if you have never had a child missing then it would not be “newsworthy” for you. How could you say such a thing. as human beings, we morally, should take interest in a missing child enough that it is “news worthy” everyday, until the person is home safe, where they belong. Lack of human interest is part of this problem. This is whay our world has come to.
Yes, this is, or should be, a concern for the mayor. If this city is unsafe, he better be concerned. Like I said, unless you have had a missing child, you could never begin to understand the importance of keeping their faces in the news. What’s 15 seconds going to hurt a broadcasting company, for the sake of a life?
I aint going to lie I have known Tabitha since the 3rd grade she stayed right sown the street from me! I rode the bus with here and we hung out! Her bestfriend was my bestfriends sister! It seems like people are giving up and thinking she just ran away but thats not the tabitha I know! I have faith she will be found
I DO NOT KNOW OF TABITHA I WAS JUST WATCHING THE MAURY SHOW & THEY WERE AIRING HER STORY ON THE SHOW. THIS STORY HAS DEEPLY TOUCHED ME & IT IS VERY SAD. I HOPE WITH EVERYTHING THAT SHE IS FOUND SAFELY SO THERE IS CLOSURE FOR THIS FAMILY & REGARDLESS IF THERE IS NO RECENT INFORMATION ABOUT TABITHA I STILL BELIEVE THAT HER STORY SHOULD BE AIRED ON THE NEWS AT LEAST A COUPLE MORE TIMES BECAUSE MAYBE SOMEONE HAS SEEN HER N DOESN’T HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HER DISAPPERANCE & JUST BELIEVE THERE’S NOTHING WRONG & MAYBE IF THEY JUST SO HAPPEN TO SEE THE NEWS THEY CAN BECOME AWARE & I SAY TO HER FAMILY HOLD YOUR HEAD UP & STAY STRONG FOR HER
The Maury show has just been repeated here in the UK so that is probably why you have interest from over here. We always watch these sort of cases with interest when we have children, and we feel the pain when one is missing. I knew the show was an old one, but wanted to know if the story had a happy ending. I hope that one day it will, and all of us parents will share your joy when it does happen. God be with you.
I came across your blog today while doing a search to see if there was any news about Tabitha. I got a recent article where the fbi had done a sweep on the U.S. for a prostitution ring(s) and uncovered several teens held in captive. The reason I thought of Tabitha is because, I am the investigator who went to TN with Project Safe Child in 03′, what the media does not know, nor has the family disclosed lead me to believe she may have initially went with someone she knew, in hopes of perhaps ditching school that day. I have a suspicion that she may have been taken into a known ring in that area. We followed many leads over a 2 week period, which consisted primarily of watching local prostitutes and gathering information about the John’s. Rumor had it on the street that Tabitha was with this group and was due to be moved out of the area and sent to a nearby large city. It is bitter sweet, to entertain the idea that she may still be with this group, she would be almost legal age, and I would hope if the rumor has any truth to it, she would be contacting her parents if able. I did not feel that she was abducted, in the sense of a authentic abduction. I also felt at the time that the parents and family were not coming forth with all of there information. During my interview with them they did not react as most parents would in that situation. They were stoic, and unresponsive. IMO
Tears flow
from deep within my soul,
brought froth from thine eyes.
To trust what I’ve received with peace.
To bring it out of the depths in which it hides,
shatter all the lies,
embrace the smiles
Empowered as God’s child.
Sister circle wheel,
etheric Sat-Sanga,
Gives a beacon to the lost, to the stolen
Chants
Welcome Home

I think the reason nobody seems too concerned is that A. her family seems guilty as sin. If there was foul play involved, they are behind it. And B. when the story was first reported, it was revealed that Tabitha had a 24 year old Hispanic boyfriend with a lengthy criminal record who was in danger of being deported. Hmmm, a 13 year girl from a terribly abusive and impoverished family. I wonder if she'd want to escape? Of course, the 24 year old Hispanic fellow was never mentioned again after that first report.
First of all, maybe you need to do a little more research before you attack this family. Sounds to me like you don't know much, except what you heard. The fact is a 13yr old girl went missing while on her way to school and her family grieves for her daily. Her mother, father, brother, sister, and nieces and nephews will never give up their hope. My hope for you is that you learn a little sympathy and care, maybe your life will be better!!!!!!
Nobodycares. You don't know what you are talking about. Abusive family? Never, these are the most kind hearted, middle class working family around. They are not impoverished, they struggle paycheck to paycheck like most American families do. As you said "rumored" boyfriend, that was the only thing correct in your statement. Rumored!!!! The Tuders did not have a personal computer, her downtime was with her family, mother, father, brother, sister, nieces and nephews. Good old fashioned family time. Not spent surfing the computer, getting into trouble. I personally know this family, as apparently you DON'T. Get your facts straight before you make a false accusation!!!!
I am a writer for examiner.com/Nashville and am interested in interviewing anyone who knew Tabitha Tuders, assisted in the search, lived in the neighborhood, went to school with her, or had anything to do with the case, no matter how trivial. Please email me at Yates.Examiner@comcast.net or see my ongoing reports on the case at examiner.com/Nashville in the Society & Cultures Section.
Jamie, Tabitha's older sister was my manager at Sonic on Bell Road. Jamie was an excellent manager, but there were days when she was more down because of Tabitha. I have a great amount of respect for her because of her strength. Anyway, another person recently told me that she thought Tabitha got pregnant by a black guy she was dating that lived on her street. This person also told me that Tabitha decided to keep the baby, but didn't want mom + dad to know, so she ran away. I don't think that I believe the person that told me this, but it -could- be a good tip as to what's going on with her now. I pray she is found though…
It is now 2010,and still no signs of Tabitha Tuders….It is time to reopen the case and get things started and bring her home.I am from middle Tennessee, and at the time my daughter was 13 when Tabitha became missing/ I belive the police needs to reope the case and look more. Will the F.B.I. in Nashville not help out now?? Where is John Walsh when you need him ???????????
Please help get Tabitha home….
Theres multiple issues
A. She’s not high profile
B. atty Gerry Spence said if you don’t have the money, you won’t get justice;so another big problem i s funding for searches and other necessary things
Cadaver dogs were sent to the house and pinged the house
Someone needs to pressure the But the muslim owner who bought the house a year after she went missing won’t allow anyone into the house which is abandoned or to dig to see if theres bones or clothing,, etc
That means he’s hiding something
C. Lack of media coverage
Someone needs to pressure the owner as well as Lee Tudors as if anyone is asked to search and you say no – most likely that person is hiding something that he or she doesnt want others to find out
And you know they’ve been through every room in that house
